Over 300 kg of cocaine intercepted by police in Antwerp port

A huge quantity of cocaine – amounting to 300 kilograms – was seized on the Waeslandian side of the Port of Antwerp on Tuesday. One person has been arrested, according to the East Flanders Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The Antwerp shipping police arrested a person on Tuesday on quay 1333 located in Beveren, Waasland, which is a part of the Port of Antwerp located in East Flanders.

At the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect was taken before an investigating judge in Dendermonde. The latter placed him under investigation.

The suspect will appear before the Council Chamber on Friday. The Public Prosecutor’s Office did not wish to communicate further, "in the interests of the investigation."
