Brussels police intercept e-scooter driver travelling at 60 km/h

Police in the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles area intercepted the driver of an electric scooter travelling at around 60km/h on Thursday.

The person was stopped in the Alhambra district of Brussels during a traffic operation, the the Brussels-Capital/Ixelles police zone said in a statement on Friday.

Of the 48 mopeds checked, 11 were fined for speeding.

The operation led to three drivers being issued with tickets.

Offences included failing to have a valid driving licence and driving under the influence of drugs, among other things, the statement added.
