Belgium's 'Oxfam Trailwalker' looking for volunteers

After eleven editions spent in the High Fens, Oxfam Trailwalker Belgium is moving to the Grande Forêt de Saint-Hubert in the Ardennes.

The challenge and goals of the twelfth edition remain unchanged: teams of 4 people walk 100 kilometers within a period of a maximum of 30 hours.

The trail of 100 kilometers will start on Saturday, August 31st at 9am on the military airfield of Saint-Hubert.

They must raise 1500 euros funds for Oxfam-projects, of which the goals are to fight injustice and poverty in the world. At this time, 282 teams are registered and have already raised over 310.000 euros.

Call to volunteers

140 volunteers are already registered to support the event. To assure a proper functioning of Oxfam Trailwalker, at least 300 volunteers are needed. “Join this event and be part of this human adventure,” said one of the organisers. The participants can also look forward to a BBQ, concerts, DJs, and cold drinks.

Oxfam Energywalker, light version

For the first time, Oxfam organizes Oxfam Energywalker. For this new walk, participants (in teams of minimum 2 to maximum 8 people) will walk 25 kilometers within 8 hours by fasting. Before taking the start, they must raise 1000 euros for Oxfam projects in the world.
