An 84-year-old cyclist has died in hospital after being involved in a road accident on Tuesday in Oudsbergen, the Limburg Public Prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday morning.
The man was hit by a van at around 13:30 on Tuesday as he tried to cross a carriageway with his bike on the cycle path.
The man, from Peer, was taken to hospital in critical condition, but later died of his injuries.
A traffic expert has been appointed to shed more light on the circumstances of the man's death.
