Brussels food tour company and La Dalle reported a 73% increase in sales over the previous year in June and July, La Capitale reports.

The team behind the Covid startup that takes clients on a food tour through the city credit this success to their new partnership with the City of Brussels, which brought more visibility to the gastronomical company.

With already 1,200 sales this summer, La Dalle organises themed multi-course meal tours at various Horeca establishments (hotels, restaurants and cafés) throughout Brussels to help guests discover new eateries in the Belgian capital.

Self-described as "a culinary tour on foot where you can explore the restaurants and iconic districts of Brussels," the website attracts foodies with a single question: "Are you always unsure which restaurant to choose? Why not try them all in one meal?"

La Dalle's gastronomical tours bring participants to four different establishments during a four-course meal: an aperitif, two courses with a drink and a dessert. Tours are self-guided with the aid of an app, and the destinations are a surprise – revealed on the go.

"There's not a day when we don't get bookings," Sarah Mulongo, one of the organisers of La Dalle, told La Capitale.

Fabian Maingain (DéFI), councillor for Commerce at the City of Brussels, says that the City of Brussels is also happy about the partnership: "It allows Belgians to discover the city centre in a fun and dynamic way; and it promotes an interesting initiative that reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of Brussels."

La Dalle offers online reservations for groups of up to 10 people until the end of the summer.
