A man living in the municipality of Kortrijk has been given a fine for urinating against a hedge in the garden of Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne, after the latter made headlines for the so-called 'Pipigate' scandal.

The man often makes videos that he then shares on his social media. On Saturday, he made and posted a video in which he urinated on the hedge that Van Quickenborne and his neighbour share.

"If they pee on my mates' van, I pee on his hedge," the man said in the video, in a clear reference to an incident that took place on 14 August, in which guests at Van Quickenborne's birthday party urinated against a parked police van several times.

The incident was caught on a surveillance camera on Van Quickenborne's street, as he has been under police protection ever since he was a victim of a failed kidnapping attempt in September last year. While some have said that the video also shows Van Quickenborne pretending to urinate against the van, he downplayed the incident and then defended himself by saying he was "probably playing air guitar."

Now, a complaint has been filed against the man who urinated against the Minister's hedge and he has received a fine, the authorities confirmed to Het Nieuwsblad. Van Quickenborne has not commented on the incident.
