TEC is looking for hundreds of drivers as well as other profiles, the Walloon public transport company announced in a press release on Friday.

Positions are available in all Walloon provinces, it said.

“To become a bus driver, you obviously need to be motivated and customer-oriented, hold a B driving licence and be prepared to work variable and flexible hours," the company said in its press release. "However, you do not need to already have a D driving licence, as the training is fully paid for by the TEC.”

Technical professions such as HGV mechanics, electromechanics, car electricians and various positions in IT teams, design offices and administrative departments are also in short supply in the company. Several levels of experience and qualifications are desired.

“In the coming days, we will be continuing our recruitment efforts as we take part in the job fairs organised by the town of Binche on 26 September and in Morlanwelz on 12 October," TEC recruitment manager Ninon Gerlache announced, ''and on 24 October, a new Jobday is being organised in Neufchâteau.”

Interested persons who do not live near these towns or cities may also apply via the letec.be website. The employer “is committed to offering attractive working conditions, ongoing training opportunities and an inclusive environment to its employees,” it said.

For the year 2023, the TEC had a target of attracting 650 new employees, including 496 bus drivers. So far, 282 drivers and 100 other employees have been hired.
