The 16th edition of the Brussels Airport Marathon will be held in the centre of Brussels on Sunday 6 October, disrupting traffic and public transport.

The Marathon will start and finish in the Parc du Cinquantaire in the East of the city, and follow a route on the South-Eastern part of the city.

Several tram and bus lines will be disrupted until the early afternoon. It is strongly recommended to avoid travelling to the capital by car, reports RTBF.

Tramlines 7, 8, 81, 92 and 93 will be impacted by the marathon. Some stops will be moved or temporarily not be served until 15:00. STIB recommends using the metro or a T-bus where possible.

Buses 12, 17, 21, 27, 33, 34, 36, 38, 41, 59, 60, 61, 64, 71, 72, 79, 80 and 95 will be disrupted and take different routes to avoid the marathon, or not drive at all, until 15:30.
