Eden Hazard has called time on his professional playing career at the age of 32, the former captain of the Red Devils announced on Instagram.
"You have to know how to listen to yourself and say stop at the right time. After a 16-year career and more than 700 matches played, I’ve decided to call time on my professional football career," wrote Hazard.
"I was able to fulfil my dream, playing and having fun on pitches across Europe and the world."

After thanking the clubs and people who have meant so much to him, the twirling winger closed the footballing chapter of his life. "Now it’s time to enjoy my family and friends and to have some new experiences. See you soon off the pitch."
Hazard was part of Belgium's "golden generation" who finished third at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and took home the bronze medal, after losing to France in the semi-final but beating England in the third-place playoff.
