Flemish Brabant man arrested for threatening Jewish community

A 25-year-old man from Keerbergen (Flemish Brabant) was arrested on Friday last for threatening Jewish community via the Telegram messaging system, according to the Office of the public prosecutor (OPP).

During the arrest, a search was carried out,  with his consent, at the young man’s home.

The OPP requested the appointment of an investigating judge for written threats involving attacks on persons. The man was brought before the judge on Saturday.

At the request of the public prosecutor, the judge released him subject to conditions.

These incude a curfew and a ban on using the Internet and social networks.
