Several parts of army uniforms were stolen in the Brussels commune of Saint-Gilles in the night between Sunday and Monday.
The report has been confirmed to the Belga News Agency by local police in the Brussels-Midi zone, which includes Anderlecht, Saint-Gilles and Forest.
It is unclear whether there is a link to the terror attack that took place on Monday night, but police have passed on the information to the relevant departments as a precaution.
The theft took place on the night of Sunday to Monday, between 22:30 and 07:00, in Rue d'Ecosse in Saint-Gilles. There, the perpetrators made off with a pair of army bottoms, two pairs of khaki trousers, and two khaki pullovers.
"We indeed received a report of theft through the Montgomery police zone, which drew up the report and informed us," said Sarah Frederickx, spokesperson for Brussels- Midi police. "Given the context of today and yesterday, we passed on that information for safety, but rather as a precaution and not because we have elements that point to a link."
