A ULB student anonymously posted on a university-affiliated Facebook page on Sunday evening warning fellow students that she had been kidnapped and raped on Saturday night.

According to the post, after an initiation party on Saturday evening, the victim was kidnapped by an individual posing as a driver of the STIB provided taxi service, Collecto, who was driving a grey Citroen car. The post explained that the victim was subsequently injured and raped.

The post, which appeared on the ULB Confessions Facebook page, has been shared over 2,000 times and has received almost 1,000 comments, some of which are from women explaining that they have come across a similar individual in the ULB neighbourhood in Ixelles.

It has been confirmed by the Brussels public prosecutor that a 20-year-old woman lodged a complaint on Sunday about an incident of sexual assault that took place over the weekend.

"The procedure at the CPVS (Center for Sexual Violence) in Brussels has been followed and an investigation is currently underway to identify the suspect," the magistrate of the public prosecutor of Brussels, Denis Goeman, told La Libre.

"No additional comments can be made at this stage," added Goeman.
