A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of some 800 students from Notre-Dame de Bellevue College on Bonsecours Street in Dinant, Belgium.

On Monday morning, students were evacuated towards Dinant's railway station and told to gather in the Balneary Hall under the Casino of Dinant.

A local police zone spokesperson, Patrice Liétart, confirmed a dog squad would be conducting a building search soon after their arrival.

Parents capable of doing so have been asked to pick up their children, as highlighted by Mayor Thierry Bodlet. He also mentioned a timetable for the bomb's expected detonation was revealed in an email received by the school, according to L’Avenir.

Despite the stressful circumstances, Liétart states that the evacuation was conducted smoothly. He further stressed that "the operation is being carried out under police orders, with a canine unit expected onsite for a building sweep."
