For the fourth year in a row, Belgian DJ Charlotte De Witte (31) has been voted the 'best techno DJ' in the world by the British trade magazine DJ Mag.

Every year, the British magazine DJ Mag awards prizes to the best DJs of the moment, in various categories. For the fourth time in as many years, the public has voted Charlotte de Witte the winner in the "best techno DJ" category.

"It is super cool and it remains super cool, even after all these years. Incredibly nice to be on such a list, among a lot of talent. To then also be number one: that remains special," she said on Flemish radio. "I cherish that very much because I think people will look at that list. This is a nice pat on the back, so I will continue to do my best to keep going like this. I will see what else comes my way."

In a video message on Instagram, De Witte also writes that as a woman, she is grateful to contribute to supporting female colleagues in the sector. "No matter how small my contribution is, I think it is one of my greatest achievements. So many strong and inspiring women have gone before me, and many more will follow."

Following a busy summer filled with international festivals and a tour in Latin America, De Witte is currently staying in Lisbon, where she will be taking some time to make new music and rest after an intensive few months.
