An armed robbery attempt was made on a jewellery store in central Bruges on Saturday afternoon, confirmed by the West Flanders Prosecutor’s Office, Bruges Division, with the perpetrator fleeing without loot and still at large.
The incident unfolded around 12.50 pm in Zuidzandstraat in Bruges. A man on an electric scooter targeted Versato Jewellery store, demanding valuable jewellery at gunpoint. However, the victim managed to eject the robber from the store without losing any valuables. It was confirmed that there were no injuries as a result of the episode.
The Bruges Division of the West Flanders Prosecutor’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident, as yet, they have not apprehended the perpetrator.
