Dutch cycling team Jumbo-Visma will transition to the name ‘Visma-Lease a Bike’ from 1 January, Wout van Aert’s squad confirmed in a statement on Friday.

The Dutch outfit has been searching for a new sponsor following the end of its association with supermarket chain Jumbo. Belgium’s Lease a Bike, which provides bike fleet rentals to companies, has been a partner since the start of 2023 and has now signed an open-ended contract, similar to software company Visma.

“We are thrilled to confirm our new partnership agreements with Visma and Lease a Bike”, said team manager Richard Plugge in the statement. “These partnerships signify a significant step forward, ensuring resources for our progress and team advancement. Last year demonstrated that we can grow and triumph in harmony, and this remains our long-term shared objective.”

Jumbo-Visma dominated the 2023 cycling season by notably winning all three grand tours, with the victories of Slovenian Primoz Roglic in the Giro d'Italia, Danish rider Jonas Vingegaard in the Tour de France, and American Sepp Kuss in the Vuelta a España. The latter also had Vingegaard and Roglic on the podium for an unprecedented one-two-three success).

The Dutch team will reveal its roster and objectives for the 2024 season at an event in Amsterdam on the 21st of December.
