The Risk Management Group (RMG) has upgraded to a yellow code for respiratory infections, according to a statement issued by the Belgian Ministry of Health.
In practical terms, the code yellow corresponds to "an increase in circulation of respiratory pathogens, yet the pressure on health facilities remains manageable."
The recommended measures for the public continue to include adhering to basic hygiene rules.
These include "regular hand washing, ventilating indoor spaces, sneezing into a disposable tissue or elbow, and COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, particularly for high-risk groups” or those aged over 65, RMG clarified.
