A woman in her forties was killed on Sunday when she tried to save her dog that had fallen onto the train tracks as a train was approaching, according to the Namur public prosecutor’s office.
The tragic incident occurred around 2:20 p.m at Sclaigneaux station, in Andenne, Namur Province. As the woman rushed to rescue her pet, the oncoming train was unable to stop in time.
The incident led to an interruption of train services until 5:30 p.m., according to railway infrastructure company Infrabel.
