Train services suspended between Libramont and Marbehan

Train services between Libramont and Marbehan have been suspended due to severe weather since 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, according to network operator Infrabel.

Rising levels of the Mellier River are threatening the stability of a bridge carrying the railway line in Mellier village, located in Léglise municipality, Luxembourg province.

The area has been monitored since late afternoon. With water levels now exceeding the bridge’s arches, Infrabel announced a precautionary interruption to train services until the water retreats, presumably on Thursday.

Decisions about resuming or continuing the suspension of services will be made once the water level begins to decrease.

Infrabel will implement replacement shuttle services between Marbehan and Libramont in both directions on Thursday morning.

The national railway company urges affected passengers to keep paying attention to announcements broadcasted at railway stations.
