An inmate of Arlon prison in the province of Luxembourg escaped on Tuesday afternoon while being transferred to Lantin penitentiary for a medical examination.
The escape occurred at around 2.45 p.m. upon the prisoner's arrival at Lantin prison, which is in Liege province.
Multiple vehicles from the Basse-Meuse police force swiftly initiated a hunt for the escapee. Nearby police units rushed in and reinforcements with a federal police helicopter were also deployed.
