A Dutch tourist was assaulted on Saturday afternoon at Liège’s Guillemins train station.
Two underage suspects and an 18-year-old accomplice targeted the 78-year-old man from the Netherlands. The incident occurred around 15:30 in the upper part of the train station.
When they attempted to rummage through the elderly man’s pockets, he tried to fight back with a kick. The three suspects then retaliated, battering him and breaking his glasses.
The alleged perpetrators, already well-known to law enforcement, were arrested and detained. The 18-year-old, a resident of Liège, was brought before the prosecutor’s office.
The case has been put under investigation, with an arrest warrant request made against the individual involved.
