FIFA rejects appeal from Royal Antwerp FC technical director, Marc Overmars for his worldwide suspension from football, as confirmed by spokesperson Frank Neervoort.
Overmars was suspended for two years (with one year suspended) in November 2023. The Royal Antwerp players publicly supported the director.
The ISR ruled that the director had sent "inappropriate" messages to several female colleagues during his final season at Ajax Amsterdam in 2022.
Two weeks following this action, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) presented the suspension to FIFA.
The international football federation chose to extend this ban globally, barring the Dutchman from his role as technical director at Antwerp, who employed Overmars in 2022 despite knowing about the case.
