Last year, Antwerp saw a 59% surge in foreign investments and is consolidating its place as one of the most attractive places in Europe for investors.

This growth propelled the Belgian city to second place in the prestigious "European Cities and Regions of the Future 2024/25" ranking for foreign investment attraction, just nudging ahead of Glasgow in Scotland.

The rankings, compiled by fDi Intelligence, the Financial Times research centre, focus on large cities with a population of less than 2 million.

The fDi Intelligence report also placed Antwerp amongst the top ten in the categories of ‘general’, ‘connectivity’ and ‘economic potential’. "The city’s notable economic potential and connectivity place it among the top ten promising investment destinations in Europe," exclaimed Deputy Mayor Erica Caluwaerts.

In addition, last year the city attracted 50 new foreign investment projects, amassing a total of €1.93 billion.
