Secondary school students in Belgium will be able to access digital versions of the country's French-speaking newspapers from 25 March to 24 April.

Lapresse.be announced this initiative as part of the 'Open My Digital Daily' project. Teachers wishing to register one or more classes can do so until 15 March.

The goal, Lapresse.be explains, is to teach young people to find professional, reliable and verified information online. 'Open My Digital Daily' encourages students to sharpen their critical thinking, spark curiosity and compare how news is handled across different titles, platforms and media, thus forming their own perspectives on current affairs.

The initiative is also open to organisers of media education activities in other institutions, such as boarding schools, libraries and youth organisations.

In 2023, 570 classes (11,300 students) participated in the programme.
