German conglomerate Bosch is once again planning to scale down its workforce, primarily in its home appliances division, BSH.

Set against the current staffing figures, "BSH expects to cut around 3,500 global positions by the end of 2027, including 1,000 this year alone," a company spokesperson in Munich revealed on Friday.

According to the spokesperson, worldwide, the BSH division employs around 60,000 people, approximately 17,000 of whom are based in Germany.

The firm justifies its decision as a move to cut costs in order to maintain competitiveness and finance investments.

Earlier, Bosch announced job cuts, predicting an overall reduction of more than 7,000 positions. The conglomerate boasts a global workforce of about 427,600 individuals.

In Belgium, Bosch has a strength of 1,300 employees, with principal sites in Tirlemont, Anderlecht, and Malines.
