Live Nation, the organisers of the popular one-day festivals Werchter Boutique and TW Classic festivals, announced that the events will not be held this year.

The Werchter Boutique Festival is usually held on the second-last Saturday of June, followed by the TW Classic festival on Sunday. They both take place in Werchter, where Rock Werchter attracts thousands of music lovers at the start of July every year. However, both one-day festivals have been scrapped from the summer calendar this year.

"Our one-day festivals, Werchter Boutique and TW Classic, will not take place in 2024," Live Nation wrote on the festivals' websites on Friday. "This is not a decision that was taken lightly, and it is an announcement we'd rather not have to make."

Among the reasons given were the difficulty of finding a headliner. "Over the past months, much hard work has been done to put together great line-ups for each of these festivals. But today, unfortunately, we have concluded that we can’t pull this off," a statement on Werchter Boutique's website read.

The organisers noted there are several reasons for this, including that headline acts' plans had changed, while for others, no suitable date could be found. They added that there are also roadworks near the festival site, which prevented the organisation of events before mid-June.

"Our primary aim is to maintain the highest possible standards for all our events and to offer our festival-goers the very best, without compromising anything," it added. The four-day Rock Werchter festival will be held this year, from 4 to 7 July inclusive. headline acts such as Foo Fighters, Dua Lipa, Måneskin and Lenny Kravitz have already been confirmed.
