A vehicle caused widespread destruction after careering off a road in the province of Limburg, but the occupants of the vehicle, two young women, survived.

The accident took place on the Reppelerweg in Reppel near Bocholt during the early hours of Sunday morning. The car veered off the road at around 01:00.

In the process, it tore through gardens, destroyed fences and collided with two parked vehicles before coming to a halt on its roof adjacent to a house.

The local police of the Carma zone, encompassing Genk, As, Oudsbergen, Zutendaal, Houthalen-Helchteren, Bree, Bocholt, and Kinrooi, handled the initial findings on the scene.

Firefighters were called for an extraction, but remarkably, the two occupants — women aged 20 and 21 — were found beside the crashed vehicle, albeit in a state of panic.

Emergency services transported the 21-year-old woman from Hechtel-Eksel and the 20-year-old woman from Bocholt to the hospital for check-ups. They were both responsive on their way to the hospital. The circumstances of the accident are still unclear.
