Brussels Airlines pilots are set to undertake a preliminary wave of strikes between 23 and 27 March, revealed the SETCa and ACV Puls unions on Friday.

"The situation at Brussels Airlines is critical; the management is refusing dialogue and has yet to present a suitable proposal addressing the pilots' request to reassess salary structures," stated the socialist union, culminating in seemingly inevitable strike action.

"Should no agreement be reached, further four-day strike blocks will occur randomly one or two times a month," added SETCa. Passengers will be informed of upcoming strikes a week in advance.

Jolinde Defieuw, representative of the Christian union ACV Puls, criticised the airline's leadership: "The management, perceived as absent since the departure of former CEO Dieter Vranckx in 2021, needs to take the staff's concerns more seriously and implement a fairer pay policy."
