Ecolo, the French-speaking Green Party, launched their campaign in Namur on Sunday with the slogan: "choose the future".

Faced with a packed audience, the party presented their key priorities: investment, solidarity, preservation of life, and an emphasis on democracy.

A significant portion of the congress focused on women’s rights, incorporating a performance from the drumming group Lay this Drum and a series of talks by leading women from the party, including Cécile Cornet, Barbara Trachte, Charline Van Snick, Céline Tellier, and Rajae Maouane.

Topics of emphasis were the fight against discrimination, agriculture, building renovations, and social rights. The party reiterated key calls for a public investment plan of €15 billion in ecological transition and individualisation of social rights.

“Together, we will win,” expressed co-leader Jean-Marc Nollet, while his counterpart, Rajae Maouane said, "the campaign will be a fight".

The co-leader targeted the rising far-right movement across Europe, particularly in Flanders where it could potentially win. "Our project is the exact opposite of what they stand for," she reaffirmed.
