A Belgian tourist has died in Morocco, as confirmed by the Belgian Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
The news was first reported on Moroccan news site Kech24, and later confirmed by Belgian authorities who have been informed of the death and are providing consular assistance to the family.
According to Flemish daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the victim was a 66-year-old woman. She reportedly suffered a fatal fall in the sauna of her hotel resort in Bab Atlas, some 15 kilometres away from Marrakech.
Despite being rushed to a private hospital, she succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
