A Brussels Airlines flight en route to the Congolese capital of Kinshasa had to return to the Brussels Airport in Zaventem on Monday after its engine failed, VRT news reports.

The emergency landing was carried out without issue at 13:15 on Monday. Just one of the plane’s engines was functioning.

The plane was above Paris when the issue was discovered. Brussels Airlines spokesperson Joëlle Neeb told VRT NWS that “the measuring equipment of one of the engines indicated excessive vibrations.”

She stated that the aircraft will undergo full technical and safety checks. Passengers will depart on another plane to Kinshasa on Monday.
