Train traffic between Rivage and Trois Ponts in the province of Liège will be suspended from 21 August until 2 September, Infrabel and SNCB announced on Wednesday.

The network operator will be carrying out work that will have a local impact on the rail network.

The work causing the disruption includes ballast renewal between Aywaille and Stoumont over a six-kilometre stretch, catenary work and maintenance work on the Cheneux tunnel.

All trains will be replaced by buses, accessible with an SNCB ticket, throughout the period of disruption. They will stop at all stations on the rail link thus replaced: Rivage, Aywaille, Coo and Trois-Ponts.

"We advise passengers, due to several rail works in the area during this period, in particular between Liers and Herstal by Infrabel and between Gouvy and Luxembourg by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, to consult the travel planner in advance in order to prepare their journey," warn the rail companies.

More information is available on the SNCB website.
