The Brussels North police zone seized one kilogram of marijuana and €28,500 during a check of five individuals in a café in the North Quarter on Wednesday, as announced in a police press release on Saturday.

The seizure was carried out by officers from the Support Team (BTA).

At approximately 15:00 on Wednesday, plainclothes officers noticed suspicious behaviour by five individuals in a café in the North Quarter. The police suspected that a drug deal was taking place and proceeded to inspect and search the suspects.

During the search, the police found several packets of cocaine on one of the individuals. The Support Team discovered up to €28,000 in cash on the other suspects.

Due to this discovery, the individuals were detained, and a house search was immediately conducted at the residence of the suspect found in possession of drugs.

At the location, the police found a total of 1.043 kilograms of marijuana and another €5,950 in cash. An investigative judge was summoned, and after a hearing, the suspect was placed under arrest.
