Anderlecht’s Sporting Club is considering the construction of a new multifunctional stadium, as announced on Friday by RSCA President Wouter Vandenhaute to various Belgian media outlets.

The current stadium, Lotto Park, has been home to the team since 1917. Although there is a waiting list of 4,500 people for tickets, Vandenhaute believes that Anderlecht must plan for a new stadium to allow for future growth.

One potential site is the Cora location, set to be repurposed after the store closes in 2026, since it is situated within Anderlecht’s territory. The club is also evaluating other potential sites and options.

Vandenhaute suggests that a modern, multifunctional stadium could also host the Red Devils, Belgium’s national football team. He argues that Brussels “deserves” such a venue, noting that the King Baudouin Stadium is “not the most suitable for football or concerts.” Without specifying capacity or cost, Vandenhaute mentions that “financing would come from outside the club.”
