A Brussels tram transformed into a surprise party venue on Saturday afternoon, hosting a DJ set and red neon lights as part of an event organised by the Hangar collective in partnership with Stib.
The completely black tram on Line 8 was redecorated by the collective and was packed with electronic music enthusiasts. From Place Poelaert to Roodebeek, attendees danced while on the move to the beats of Belgian DJ and producer Fenrick.
This special tram will run on Line 8 until 1 June, serving as a mobile symbol of Brussels’ vibrant music and cultural scene, providing daily visibility for Hangar’s summer programming and its commitment to sustainability and accessible experiences.
Several key dates have been announced. On 17 May, Anyma will perform at an open-air event at the base of the Atomium. The Cinquantenaire will host a similar event on 7 June featuring DJ duo Adriatique, while party-goers can enjoy another event with DJ Solomun at Place des Palais on 15 August. The summer will close with an open-air event at the Théâtre de Verdure on 30 August.
As part of this initiative, festival-goers will have unlimited access to STIB’s transport with the “STIB Event Pass,” allowing them to travel to and from Hangar events in Brussels efficiently and environmentally friendly, the collective explains. Hangar was founded in 2018 by three young friends and entrepreneurs from Brussels, specialising in electronic music events.
