Three Club Brugge fans suspected of taking part in the rampage during the Belgian Cup final in early May have now been arrested and brought before a judge on Tuesday.
The rampage saw groups of Brugge fans fighting against locals in Molenbeek while walking to the King Baudouin stadium on 4 May. Shop windows were smashed and fireworks thrown into the crowds.
The suspects, from Bruges, were charged with intentional assault and battery. They were detained over attacks on a shop in Molenbeek, and the assault on a 73-year-old owner and his son.
Two of the suspects have been released under specific conditions while another has been placed under arrest and detained, according to confirmation of a report by Het Laatste Nieuws.
The suspect under arrest will appear before the judge on Friday.
Club Brugge won the match 2-1 against Anderlecht at the King Baudouin Stadium in northern Brussels. Around 80 people, including four police officers, were injured in the incidents occurring before and after the match in various parts of the capital.
