The E411 near Jezus-Elk has been reopened in the direction of Brussels since 8:30 on Sunday morning. In the other direction, the motorway still remains closed. It is still unclear when it will become fully functional both ways, the federal police spokeswoman reported Sunday morning.

The highway remained completely closed to traffic in both directions on Sunday morning due to a problem with work on a new bridge. Near Jezus-Elk, part of the existing bridge over the E411 is being demolished to make way for the two future bridges.

Because of the demolition works, the motorway was scheduled to be closed in both directions for around ten hours during the night from Saturday to Sunday. Both driving directions should have reopened to traffic around 8:00 on Sunday morning.

The future road bridge and the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge are expected to be ready for use in summer 2026.
