The Agency for Roads and Traffic has announced that maintenance works will take place on the western Brussels Ring in August, affecting the stretch between Halle and Beersel on the R0 and the E429 in Halle.
From 1 to 30 August, there will be disruptions in both directions on the Brussels Ring between Halle and Beersel. A new asphalt layer will be installed over a 3.5-kilometre stretch. Travellers will have access to only two lanes instead of the usual three. The agency anticipates moderate to severe disruption on the outer ring during the evening rush hour and mainly moderate disruption on the inner ring during the morning rush hour. At other times, the impact on traffic will be limited.
Construction will take place from 1 to 16 August on the carriageway towards Halle. The on and off ramps at Huizingen (exit 20) will be closed for one week at a time. Travellers heading towards Huizingen from 1 to 8 August should note that the ramps in the direction of Halle will be closed.
From 16 to 23 August, work will shift to the road towards Brussels. Those travelling to and from Huizingen during this period should avoid using the ramp in the direction of Brussels.
