A shooting incident occurred in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Brussels, on Tuesday afternoon and remains under investigation as the suspects are still at large.
The Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the shooting, which took place around 14:00 on 5 August, was allegedly carried out by two suspects who fled the scene on an electric scooter. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although a bullet did strike the windscreen of a passing vehicle. The occupants were unharmed but understandably shocked.
Authorities have activated victim support services to assist those affected. The prosecutor’s office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
A forensic police lab and a ballistic expert have been commissioned to gather evidence. The prosecutor’s office will refrain from providing further details at this stage to protect the investigation’s integrity.
