The city of Brussels and Brussels By Night are launching the second edition of the Brussels Open Air Festival on Saturday, 30 August.
This festival aims to honour collectives, clubs, labels, and promoters that bring Brussels’ nightlife to life.
A year after clubbing was recognised as intangible heritage in Brussels, the city and Brussels By Night want to highlight the local music ecosystem and the festive dynamic of the city through a unique festival solely dedicated to open-air events.
Although Brussels is renowned for its vibrant club scene, it is starting to distinguish itself from other European cities with its open-air events in the heart of the city.
Five locations across Brussels have been selected, with nine collectives, clubs, labels, and promoters entrusted to offer the public a chance to celebrate the end of summer together.
The event will feature a variety of music genres, including pop, techno, Latino, and hip-hop.
With over 10,000 visitors expected, the Brussels Open Air Festival also serves as a platform for a new generation of artists and organising structures.
This year’s projects were selected through an open call that received 25 proposals, which were evaluated by a jury of sector experts. These projects are being supported in organising their events.
