The 18th edition of the Brussels festival Théâtres Nomades attracted some 24,000 spectators, the non-profit organisation Les Nouveaux Disparus announced on Monday. The non-profit organises this event dedicated to street arts and performing arts in the Bois de la Cambre.

From 14 to 17 August, over 30 Belgian and international companies performed poetry, aerial acrobatics, clowning, storytelling from around the world, street theatre, and music with a variety of influences.

The 2025 edition was dedicated to social justice. "At a time when fundamental rights are being called into question, social divisions are widening and solidarity is struggling to take hold, the Théâtres Nomades festival reaffirms more than ever its primary vocation: to offer popular, accessible, committed theatre that promotes joyful and critical coexistence," the organisers said in a press release.

The shows were free, with voluntary donations collected at the end of each performance. Some of the shows, which took place in a big top, required booking in advance and were quickly sold out, according to the Les Nouveaux Disparus theatre company.

The next edition of the festival will be held from 13 to 16 August 2026.
