Cinephiles can now enjoy as many films as they please in Brussels, as the Cineville subscription allows users unlimited access to three cinemas in the city: Cinéma Galeries, Vendôme and Palace.

The cinema subscription will be affordable at €21 per month, or just €18 for those under 26. With regular tickets for the participating cinemas costing around €10, it's a good deal – even if you only go to the cinema a couple of times each month. The membership will last for at least four months, after which the pass can be cancelled with a month's notice.

A fourth cinema, Kinograph in Ixelles, will be added in autumn and organisers are convinced that other Brussels cinemas will join. They are also planning an expansion to arthouse cinemas throughout Belgium in 2023.

Rejuvenating audiences

The film subscription will be based on an existing Dutch concept and has been launched in collaboration with Cineville in the Netherlands to boost audiences in arthouse cinemas.

As the Covid-19 crisis hit the cultural sector hard, cinemas have struggled to lure people back to the screen. The subscription aims to bring new faces to the cinema and attract a wider audience.

You can support independent cinema and become a member on the Cineville Pass website, which was launched in English, French and Dutch on Tuesday.
