With Belgium's National Day festivities coming up on Thursday, the Brussels public transport operator STIB has announced changes to various routes.

On 21 July, celebrations will be held in the city centre for Belgium's National Day. A traditional military parade in Brussels' Royal Park area will begin at 16:00, followed by an evening performance in the Cinquantenaire Park.

As a result, the STIB has planned to bolster its services, alongside being obliged to divert some lines and close some stations.

In addition, metros on four lines will be extended until 01:00, with seven tram lines and fifteen bus lines also running until 01:00.

Bus and tram lines in the city centre and near the scheduled parades around Park Royal will be redirected.

The 38, 71, and 95 bus lines will deviate from their regular routes between 19 and 22 July due to the closure of the Place Royale.

Finally, on Thursday, entrances to the Gare Centrale, Park, and Arts-Loi stations will be closed, with the Maelbeek station closing at 23:00.
