On Saturday afternoon, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a road accident in the Belliard Tunnel.
The accident occurred around 15:00 while the biker was travelling toward Montgomery and fell off his motorcycle for reasons yet to be determined.
The victim was critically injured and had to be taken to hospital.
His motorbike had to be towed away, meaning that the tunnel in the direction of Tervuren and the E40 had to be closed, with it only reopening at 20:00.
The Brussels Public Prosecutor's Office has assigned a traffic expert to investigate the precise circumstances of the accident.
