Seven new civil parties came forward on Wednesday, following the resumption of the Brussels bombing trial, bringing the total to 1,070.

On Tuesday, 111 new civil parties had registered, joining 957 others who had previously come forward.

The Brussels Assise Court on Wednesday received the testimonials of the first police officers, military personnel, members of the emergency services and investigating judges who intervened after the attacks of 22 March 2016 in Brussels and Zaventem.

According to the theoretical timetable presented by the president of the court, Laurence Massart, these hearings should continue until 30 January.

They are to be followed by those of the civil parties from 13 February to 9 March.
