Several streets in Schaerbeek will be closed on Sunday 16 April due to a police operation, the Brussels-North police zone said on Friday, confirming a report in several media.
According to judicial sources, the operation will be the re-enactment of a murder, but the police did not wish to comment further on the nature of the activity.
“Due to a police operation, the Avenue Félix Marchal (between Rue Radium and Chaussée de Louvain) and Chaussée de Louvain (between Place Dailly and the crossroads formed by Grande Rue au Bois and Rue Victor Hugo) will be closed on Sunday from 8a.m.,” the Brussels-North police zone said. “Only residents will be able to go to their homes.”
“We ask the population to follow the planned diversions and not to enter the area, so that the police can do their job,” it said.
