Taking children out to eat isn't always easy, especially when they become little rascals the second you step out of the door.

Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés scattered across Brussels that are perfect for the whole family. Find our favourites below!

Brunch and lunch

Chicago Café

Located in the buzzing Dansaert area of Brussels, Chicago Café is ideal for children and parents alike.

C. Ramic Art Café

Time to roll up your sleeves (and your child's!) and get creative while enjoying a delicious meal. One of the first concept bars in Brussels, C. Ramic Art Café welcomes children with open arms, making it the perfect place for a family outing.

At its other location on Rue Tenbosch, the café organises ceramics courses for children from as young as 3 during the school holidays. It also hosts birthday parties, including cakes with candles and drinks.

La Fabbrica

Housed on the unique Tour & Taxis site, La Fabbrica offers food throughout the week, but is best known for its Sunday brunch where children are the centre of attention.

This eatery has mastered the art of giving parents space to relax and enjoy the buffet while making sure children don't get bored, providing them with entertainment such as a bouncy castle, a clown, face painting and creative workshops during its brunch.

Lloyd Coffee Eatery

From the scrumptious, extravagant donuts – a perfect weekend treat for kids – to an indoor play area, Lloyd Coffee has been a family favourite from the very beginning.

In the kid's zone, adapted to toddlers, children will find all kinds of entertainment, including a Lego wall and a library stocked with children's books, allowing adults to eat in peace while keeping an eye on their children.

Dinner

WOLF

Even throughout the week, this food market in the heart of Brussels is a firm family favourite. The informal nature of WOLF enables kids to relax and it's great for meet ups as its large open space and long, shared tables can seat several at once.

What's more, WOLF becomes a child's paradise on Sundays. Parents can unwind with friends and family, whilst WOLF's team takes care of the youngsters, with bouncy castles, movie sessions, balloon games and much more. For Iris Festival this Sunday, expect an extra special KETS@WOLF.

Garage à Manger

Located a stone's throw away from Tenbosch Park in Ixelles, Garage à Manger is one of the few organic eateries in the area where children are not only received with a warm welcome, but also with comics and colouring books.

The large, industrial yet cosy space is usually crowded with families during the weekends, and the special play area, with a vintage caravan fitted with a reading corner, is definitely a favourite amongst local children.

Café De Markten

This café is attached to a Dutch-speaking community centre in the heart of Brussels, known for organising activities and events for young and old.

A favourite among parents, who can be often be spotted sitting on the shaded terrace with an outdoor playground. Kids can go wild as their parents sip a glass of wine and delve into the delicious sharing platter.
