Out Loud Festival, Beursschouwburg, until 24 June

From Thursday to Saturday throughout the month of June, Beursschouwburg, the cultural centre by Bourse, is inviting people onto its magical rooftop for free evening concerts and cheap drinks.

Friday brings alternative club music with Jabanè Sessions, while mystical concerts spanning RnB and pop art will bring positive vibes on the rooftop on Saturday with Volta's club night.

Electronic Garden, Parc Royal, Sunday 11 June

This year's edition will be Electronic Garden's tenth birthday, even more reason not to miss this iconic open-air party in the heart of Brussels.

VKRS#5 Festival, Les Riches-Claires, Saturday 10 June

Guignolet in the park, Bois de la Cambre, until 30 August

Puppet shows have long been a central part of Belgium's historic culture scene. During the summer months, this legacy is honoured and brought back to the forefront in the city's largest green space.

Les Cœurs de Bois invites people of all ages to experience the adventures of Guignolet and his friends through five different stories, spread across a total of 50 performances, all in French.

Another way to escape this weekend's urban heat is a peaceful walk in a beautiful rose garden. More than 200,000 roses of all types and varieties make for a breathtaking palette of colours in the Coloma Rose Garden – a green space of world-class quality.
