All four lanes of the Tervuren tunnel are shut in both directions due to a power cut on Friday, shutting down traffic on the Brussels R0 ring road, the Flemish road authority announced.
The road authority warned that drivers coming into Brussels could experience serious traffic jams.
"At around 07:00 AM, the power in the tunnel has completely failed," a spokesperson for the Vlaams Verkeerscentrum told Bruzz.
"That means no lighting, no ventilation and no cameras either," he added.
The road authority strongly advises drivers to avoid this route —as they estimate the traffic jams could last more than an hour and a half— and to take alternative routes instead.
