Police have arrested an individual following the knife attack that occurred on Boulevard Anspach on Wednesday evening, the Public Prosecutor's Office announced on Thursday.
The attack on Wednesday evening severely injured one person, who is still in critical condition. A second victim sustained minor injuries in a fight in the city later on.
Initial investigations suggest the brawl was an interpersonal conflict and police have not yet drawn any links to drug-related crime. An examining magistrate has been requested to consider charges of attempted murder.
Police received a distress call at around 18:00 on Wednesday evening. Upon arrival at the site they discovered a 21-year-old man with multiple stab wounds. The victim was subsequently rushed to hospital.
The Public Prosecutor collected evidence such as security footage and a pocket knife when they visited the scene.
